Before starting this communication design class I had no background information on how to create anything related to animations/designs. I learned many new things this semester. At first using the Gimp software was a bit confusing, however after researching how to use the software it became easier. Using the Gimp software the only problem that frustrated me was the software was very slow. The tools I used such as the paint or moving tool operated very slowly. I enjoyed creating memes and the animated gifs. Even though creating a lower third was hard I enjoyed learning how to do so. I would like to thank Professor Fomin for all her help.
The video I found was created by Joseph Christopher Catimbang. This portfolio show us who Joseph is and what kind of services he deals with. This portfolio is very organized and well put together. Joseph did an amazing job with this video by using a graphic design theme. I believe this video would be great for people in the film making industry, photography, or for people who enjoy working on graphic designs. The design that Joseph used on this video isn't the best design to choose for other careers such as make up artist or doctors. I believe the graphic he chose would relate more to the film making/photography then it would to any other field. Also, the choice of music that was used wouldn't be suitable for other careers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPHWWryP7ig
The logo I picked was a logo for the University of Miami. The logo is the letter "U" where half of the "u" is orange and the other half is green. I believe this logo doesn't really have anything to do with what I know about the University of Miami. The letter "u" can symbolize anything. I found out that at the University of Miami they used the letter "u" for a popular saying the university once had in the 1980s. The saying goes something like this, “It’s All About the U”. A similar style of this logo wouldn't be a good fit for the University of Michigan Dearborn CASL. Every time I think of CASL I can only think of the most creative things. From colors to designs.
http://forums.accuweather.com/uploads/post-13204-1336091269.gif (Links to an external site.) The gif I found online was a dancing banana, the banana looks like a cheerleader. When I found this gif online I started laughing because it looks really funny. You could say it put me in a happy mood :-)
I believe the infographic image I selected does a very good job of communicating complex data. Being a college student I can assure that almost everything on this infographic image was correct. I like how this infographic image looks at almost every aspect of a college students spending/budget. I believe this infographic image could be improved if it included a comparison of a college student from a different country. The intended information is mostly for college students/parents who are sending their children to college.
1) This meme was created by Phylicia Maddock, I found it on www.memes.com (Links to an external site.) 2) I could relate to this meme because it just happened to me earlier in one of my classes today where I had to write a ten page essay, I walked in to class just to hear my professor say that she will extend the due date till Wednesday. I was really annoyed because I was up till 5a.m working on it. However, on the bright side I don't have to worry about it anymore.

About Me

Hello Everyone, My name is Sanaa and this is my last semester here, I'll be graduating with a bachelors in Psychology. I personally don't have an experience with media/animation design, therefore I've decided to take this class to try something a bit different from what I'm usually used to. I chose this meme because I truly believe that this is how I've been feeling ever since I started college. Ever since the first day of college I began to regret every single second I refused to take a nap when I was younger :) I'm sure you can all relate.
